I joined the Zender’s team in 2007, and it has completely changed my career. It was at Zender’s where I was launched into advanced education. I graduated from La James in 2005 and that is also where I fell in love with Aveda. I started off my career by doing a 6 month internship at an Aveda salon before graduated and eventually moving to Iowa City. At Zender’s we have a huge emphasis on advanced education. In 2008 I stepped in the roll of Educational Director for cutting and Styling, and as a result of that, I attend countless number of classes throughout the year as well as assist in Aveda shows and events. That same year I had the privilege of attending New York Fashion Week where I worked with an outstanding group of Aveda stylists doing hair and makeup for 6 different shows. I am also an AFA (Aveda Freelance Advisor) which means I am able to go into other Aveda salons and educate others on product line. Although I love teaching and assisting in shows, my number one mission each day is to be a bright light in my guests’ lives. Leaving each of my clients feeling beautiful, refreshed, and giving them the best experience possible.
